January Spartan of the Month: Janki Limbachia

After studying and working in healthcare, Janki craved something more – a career that could combine her interests in science, technology, and knack for problem solving. After a friend recommended Sparta Global, Janki joined the Sparta Academy. After successfully completing training and earning a role in the public sector, Janki has earned a Spartan of the Month nomination for her role as a Service Level Analyst demonstrating “exceptional initiative and enthusiasm”.

Huge congratulations Janki on being named our first Spartan of the Month for 2025!

Being named Spartan of the Month was an incredible honour! I am beyond grateful. It felt amazing to have my hard work and contributions recognised by a team that I absolutely adore!

It’s fantastic to hear how much you are loving what you are doing! Was working in tech always part of the master plan?

I studied Physiology and Pharmacology at The University of Central Lancashire in Preston, but I have always wanted to step out of my comfort zone and work in a dynamic, challenging environment.

I’m always eager to use new technology and have a continuous learning mindset too. My academic foundation in science, enthusiasm for problem-solving, and a love for both independent and collaborative thinking, is what drove me to consider technology.

It was a close friend who was already at Sparta that recommended I apply. I was convinced it was the right place to grow and joined Sparta Global in April 2024.

How did Sparta Global measure up to your friend’s recommendation – did the training enable you to grow?

The Academy training was intense but incredibly valuable. Although the transition from healthcare to tech was challenging, I gained essential knowledge that has equipped me well for my role.

How did you manage that intensity?

During my journey with Sparta Global, I met some amazing people, including my cohort group. I also had the opportunity to work on an AI project, present at the Sparta office with an incredible group from the Athena Academy (Sparta Global's all-women cohort), and build strong working relationships with both Sparta staff and the organisation I have been assigned to work for.

Can you tell us a bit about your role now and what it has been like being assigned to work in the public sector?

I’m currently a Service Level Analyst with a government department.

My role involves overseeing the governance of the department’s services, maintaining SLAs with customers and OLAs with internal teams. I ensure IT services meet performance targets, and help establish a governance framework, including helping to manage third-party suppliers to ensure adherence to SLAs. I’ve also had the opportunity to work on another interesting project around Key Performance Indicators.

My first tech role has been a great learning curve. It’s been challenging but has provided invaluable insights, technical skills, and boosted my confidence.

How are you enjoying working in technology?

I’m really enjoying working in tech. The fast pace, constant innovation, and focus on problem-solving keep me engaged and motivated.

That’s great to hear! Would you recommend a pathway like Sparta Global for others looking to kickstart a career in tech?

Absolutely! The skills I’ve developed, along with the training I’ve received, have given me the foundation and confidence to pursue a long-term career in technology. I only wish I’d taken this leap earlier!

I’d highly recommend Sparta to other graduates. Their comprehensive training, mentorship, and strong professional network offer excellent support for career growth in the tech industry.

And what’s next – what are you excited for in your career?

In my current role, I’m looking forward to taking on more responsibility, streamlining processes, and continuing to build my expertise in Service Level Management. As well as continuing to support my amazing Line Manager in the best way possible.
