Sparta Global’s Sparta ImpACT initiative secures its first award for successfully harnessing the power of technology and digital skills to drive meaningful change, winning Best Economic Impact at the 2024 Tech Impact Awards
December 5, 2023, London: Sparta Global has been awarded a 2024 Tech Impact Award for Best Economic Impact at a ceremony on Wednesday, 4 December 2024, at the Pan Pacific London.
Throughout the UK, tech improves lives by driving economic growth, creating innovative solutions in health and climate, and ensuring no one is left behind. The new Tech Impact Awards celebrate organisations and people harnessing Tech to drive positive change and benefit society. With over 400 entries, this year’s awards raised the bar for what’s possible when technology is used as a force for good.
A finalist in two categories, Driving Diversity in Tech and Best Economic Impact, Sparta Global was awarded the latter for its Sparta ImpACT initiative. Sparta ImpACT is a bespoke report offering for Sparta Global clients that quantifies the action partners are taking to make a social impact, contribute to the UK economy, and build social value, by investing in our emerging talent. Using the Impact Evaluation Standard (IES) reporting framework, Sparta ImpACT scores client activities and metrics to bring to life the difference they make.
The IES includes 130+ metrics to measure social value in financial terms. It sets out specific financial proxies to quantify social Impact. Each metric carries a specific proxy value, which reflects the impact of that activity on the wider UK economy.
The Impact Evaluation Standard is also aligned with the UK government’s Social Value Model (PPN06/20).
"This award is recognition of our strong belief that social impact business is smart business. By providing mentoring, training, and employment opportunities for emerging talent, people from under-represented groups, and people who were previously at risk of unemployment – we generate significant value for the UK economy and Sparta ImpACT puts this into perspective,” says Sparta Global Co-Founder and CEO David Rai. “Prioritising people in business can be a driving force for long-term success, sustainability, and innovation and all of these things will make the UK economy stronger for years to come”.
Employing more than 800 people, Sparta Global was founded in 2015 to hire, train, and deploy diverse business and technology talent for public and private sector organisations across the UK and Ireland. Specialising in the provision of emerging talent, Sparta Global supports graduates, non-graduates, career changers, returners, ex-forces, and refugees into digital careers by delivering training in Data, Software Engineering, DevOps, Cyber Security, Test Analysis, Test Engineering, Business Solutions, Finance Risk and Compliance, and more. All training is funded by Sparta Global and “Spartan” consultants receive a salary from the commencement of training and up until they are assigned to work with one of Sparta Global’s 100+ client partners, spanning almost every industry sector, including central government, financial services, professional services, and more.
Rai adds; “I am incredibly proud of the people from under-represented backgrounds forging technology careers with Sparta Global and look forward to seeing them leading organisations in the future”.
